2 more weeks...

Until my son (Teo) flies off all by himself to Portugal to stay 6 weeks with his grandparents!

It'll be great getting tons of work done and it'll be great for him, but I don't know how I'm going to last 6 weeks. Thank goodness we live in the 21st century and there's such a thing as video cam. I don't know how parents used to send (some actually still do, I guess) their kids off for the entire school year.

Anyway, just finishing up two (yes, 2, Yay!) special orders. And working on my website (right now it just redirects to Etsy) to be able to sell from there and hopefully avoid some of Etsy fees!

Well, Teo's finally asleep, so back to work...

Oh, these are the two rings that had a special order (the originals, not the special order - I didn't take photos of those)

Oh Boy...

I'm not stating the day on my blog posts anymore. It makes me aware just how quickly the days pass and how little time I have to get everything done.

My Mother-in-Law is in town from Portugal for a week, so time is spread even more thinly.

Oh, well, I'll try to keep up and still take a look at everyone's blogs as often as I can.........

Gosh... It's Friday already!!!

Wow, I've haven't written since Monday! LOL. Where do the days go?

I've been practicing some new jewelry techniques and I've also been doing some sewing.

I'm trying to figure out a pattern for a purse I've been dreaming of. Just something in my head that I would love to have and have never found anywhere. But, boy, is it a pain. I think I've almost got it down, though. I'll put a photo when I manage to get it right.

I've also made a couple of summer shrugs. I hate having cold arms when I'm in air conditioning in the summer, but a sweater or sweatshirt is too much. So I'm made a, rather cute if I say so myself, cotton shrug out of a tablecloth that I don't use and another one out of one of my husbands sweatshirts! The tablecloth one has 3/4 sleeves and is pretty cute - good for wearing out and the sweatshirt one is great for when I'm sitting on the computer, freezing because my husband has the air conditioning on and the ceiling fan going!! I'll put up a photo of those in the next day or so.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend. I feel like going to Alexandria and strolling around the waterfront and the Torpedo Factory... hope tomorrow's nice!

bfn.

Happy Monday Everyone!

1 more week of school for my son. I think a lot of schools are out already, but not us. Not until the 16th!

I remember the last week of school when I was a kid. No concentration, a little hyper, lots of daydreaming, and marking the calendar countdown every day after school! Boy, I don't miss those days!!! LOL. I was not a liker of school! I did well, got good grades, had decent friends, and hated just about every minute of it... hahaha. Couldn't wait to be done, go to college, then be out there...

Anyway, now it's my son's turn and if we get through this week smoothly, I'll be a happy Mom!

Happy last week of school (for those of us in Maryland, at least).

A Beautiful Etsy Treasury by MyLittleAura

That I just happen to be in!!! Yay! I love having my jewelry chosen for treasuries. It's nice to be appreciated and it's nice to know people are actually finding my jewelry on Etsy in the midst of all the other jewelry!

This treasury is exceptionally beautiful. All the golden yellow "mimosa" colored items. Mine are the Golden Mimosa earrings at the top center.

It'll be up for another day (until Sat night) so click to take a look soon if you would like to make a comment or read the comments already there. Up For Some MIMOSA? or you can see it here, just much smaller and harder to see detail!

The Cat Who Loves to Play Fetch!

Ok, I have a Cod! (cat-dog LOL)

Seriously, my cat (Samantha, or Sammy for short) loves to play fetch just like a dog!

She will only play fetch with these little happymeal stuffed dogs, which she has about 3 of, all bursting at the seams.

So, mostly in the morning, but could be anytime of day or night, she will bring me (yes, bring me) one of her "doggies" and drop it at my feet while making this odd, very distinctly different, growling sort of meow.

This means she wants to play fetch (took me awhile to figure out what she wanted). I pick up the dog and wing it across the room, preferably down the stairwell and she flies after it and brings it right back to me. Sometimes I'll actually toss that thing until I'm tired out!

It's just wild, I've had lots of cats and never had one want to play fetch (especially without any training or prompting on my part) -she also loves to play tag or chase around the house, just like a dog!

Anyone else have a cod?

--oh, another odd thing, she is addicted to biting off little tiny pieces of cardboard from a box. She takes a bite and spits it out, leaving a littering of little pieces of cardboard, until the box is basically gone... soooo strange. Here's a pic - this is after just one chewing session!

I Just Joined Artfire.com and Listed Some Jewelry...

...and as you can see from my post at the top of my blog, I love it. :-D

Seriously, as a seller, it can't get much better. Listing is super easy. One page with everything on it and the images are quick and easy to upload!

And right now it's $12 per month, for life!!! No listing fees, no final percentages, nothing else, just your $12 no matter how much you list or sell. Is that awesome or what?! This seriously effects how able we are to keep overhead -and therefore prices- down.

And no need to relist your items (what a time and money saver) because searches are random, so the item you posted 3 months ago has just as much of a chance of being seen first as the item listed 3 minutes ago! ho-o-o-o-ooooh, now that's something! No getting buried at the end of the list.

And they have fantastic marketing tools. You just gotta check 'em out!

As a buyer finding what you want is super easy. The search and browse tools are great. And, best of all, you don't have to sign up to buy. So you don't have yet another id and password to remember. :D

Ready to give artfire a try? Sign up here, right now, and lock in your $12 for life!
